Annual Little Niangua Mountain Man Festival April 13 -

Civil War Living History Festival - "Missouri Town Under Siege" - Civil War
re-enactors will display lifelike depictions of a village during the war.
Surgeons, soldiers, civilians will all face the challenges in Boonesfield

Lewis & Clark Heritage Days May 19 - 20, 2007 St.
Charles, MO.
History comes alive in Frontier
Park at this annual event commemorating the arrival in St. Charles of Clark and
the Corps of Discovery and Lewis' rendezvous with them. In a large encampment
along the Missouri River you'll find numerous time period crafts on display and
demonstrations of frontier skills. Vendors offer a variety of foods and
beverages prepared as they were 200 years ago. Groups portraying military units
of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Demonstrations will include the
firing of cannons and muskets. The Corps of Discovery making final preparations
for their expedition, just as they did here in 1804. Full scale reproductions of
the keelboat and two pirogues are on display. Crafters, demonstrators,
entertainers, food vendors, and traders portraying the time period of 1750-1812.

Conservation Area on the South Bank of the Missouri River at the Confluence to

Bull's Eye Rendezvous Oct. 12 - 14, 2007
Desoto, MO. Directions: Hwy 21 south through Hillsboro
continue south through Desoto past Hwy H&N approx. 4.7mi to 2nd Vineland Rd then
look for signs. This is a pre 1840's Rendezvous. Includes
shooting match with rifle and smoothbore. For more information contact: Merrick Mobeler or Jeff Olms at 800-423-3204
Camp fee: $10 registers one shooter. No fee for trade blankets or trade tents
other than camp fees. No water, Some wood provided, pets must be kept on leash.
Smooth Bore and Rifle matches shot on the same course. Both days. No reentry.
Off hand, open sights, NO OPTICS. Some timed targets, Mini Seneca run,
knife/Hawk, Primitive Bow shoot, Fire start, Best primitive camp award.
The La Charrette Rendezvous has been cancelled for this
year.
They plan to try and have it next year and maybe every other year instead of
annually.
Check out the other event at Marthasville "Deutsch Country Days" below on same
weekend. They have a 1800's trapper rendezvous area as part of their event.
La Charrette Rendezvous 2006 Oct. 20 - 21, 2007
Marthasville, MO. Plans are for this to become an annual event to
coincide with Heritage Days. Located
in Wessel Park (next to baseball field just off Hwy. 47). Primitive camping with
wood, water and port a potties furnished for $10.00 fee (Set-up Thurs. or Fri.
before). Will have Rifled Muzzleloader Shoots (.69 cal. and under) Sat. 9-4 &

Nineteenth Century Holiday Celebration. Period decorations,
candles and bonfires set the mood for this enchanting kick-off to the holiday
season. Music, treats, and many surprises await guests as they visit Daniel in

Historical Fort Osage: Sibley, MO. This reconstructed historic Fort, overlooking
the Missouri River, is portrayed as it was in 1812. It served as one of the
first U.S. outposts in the Louisiana Purchase. The garrison established U.S.
presence in the territory, while the factory employees engaged the Osage in
trade. The story of this important guardian of the frontier is told through
museum exhibits at the Visitor's Center and a living history program at the
Fort. Fort Osage is located at Sibley, Missouri on the Missouri River, 14 miles
northeast of Independence. From Kansas City take 24 Highway east to Buckner,
Missouri. Turn north at Sibley Street (BB Hwy.) and travel 2-3 miles, watching
carefully for directional signs. Drive through Sibley following the signs to
Fort Osage.
