Lewis & Clark Heritage Days May 20 - 21, 2006  St. Charles, MO.  
History comes alive in Frontier Park at this annual event commemorating the arrival in St. Charles of Clark and the Corps of Discovery and Lewis' rendezvous with them. In a large encampment along the Missouri River you'll find numerous time period crafts on display and demonstrations of frontier skills. Vendors offer a variety of foods and beverages prepared as they were 200 years ago. Groups portraying military units of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Demonstrations will include the firing of cannons and muskets. The Corps of Discovery making final preparations for their expedition, just as they did here in 1804. Full scale reproductions of the keelboat and two pirogues are on display. Crafters, demonstrators, entertainers, food vendors, and traders portraying the time period of 1750-1812. Confluence with Destiny: The Return of Lewis and Clark September 23 & 24, 2006  St. Louis, MO.

On September 23, 1806 the Lewis and Clark Expedition officially ended when the explorers arrived in St. Louis, Missouri. In commemoration of the bicentennial of this event the National Park Service and a consortium of Missouri and Illinois State, county and local groups will recreate the arrival of Lewis and Clark in St. Louis. A flotilla of watercraft will originate at various historic sites on the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. These historic sites will present exhibits and conduct programs during the weekend. The event will involve a "convergence" of watercraft from these sites on the St. Louis waterfront, emulating the return of Lewis and Clark in 1806. La Charrette Rendezvous 2006 Oct. 21 & 22, 2006 Marthasville, MO.
Announced in the February 23, 2006 issue of the Marthasville Record. Lewis and Clark Return Rendezvous are scheduled for October 21 - 22. Plans are for this to become an annual event to coincide with Heritage Days. This years Rendezvous events will be similar to those of 2004 demonstrating life as it was lived at La Charrette 200 years ago. Additionally, a monument will be dedicated in Marthasville City Park to honor the La Charrette site. Once again, La Charrette banners will be flying. Located in Wessel Park (next to baseball field just off Hwy. 47). Primitive camping with wood, water and porta-potties furnished for $10.00 fee (Set-up Thurs. or Fri. before). Will have Rifled Muzzleloader Shoots (.69 cal. and under) Sat. 9-4 & Sun. 9- 3. Will also have Hawk, Knife and Fire Starting events. Historical Fort Osage: Sibley, MO.   This reconstructed historic Fort, overlooking the Missouri River, is portrayed as it was in 1812. It served as one of the first U.S. outposts in the Louisiana Purchase. The garrison established U.S. presence in the territory, while the factory employees engaged the Osage in trade. The story of this important guardian of the frontier is told through museum exhibits at the Visitor's Center and a living history program at the Fort. Fort Osage is located at Sibley, Missouri on the Missouri River, 14 miles northeast of Independence. From Kansas City take 24 Highway east to Buckner, Missouri. Turn north at Sibley Street (BB Hwy.) and travel 2-3 miles, watching carefully for directional signs.
